The public school system has 9003 students in 11 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 1 high school. There are numerous private schools, including four private high schools, the oldest Montessori school in the US, and Greenwich Country Day School. Average class size is 19.7 students.
Recreation:
Greenwich has 1,206 acres of parkland that include four beaches, four marinas and 13 parks. There is a skating rink, a golf course, 36 tennis courts, a center for senior citizens and artists, softball fields and six platform tennis courts.
