Schools:
There is an excellent education system of five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Pear Tree Point School is a private school with an enrollment of pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
Recreation:
An extensive public library and cultural programs greatly enhance the quality of life of its residents. The town supports 2 yacht clubs, Weed beach, a public skating rink and winter clubs. Six private clubs are available.
