Darien spans approximately 14.9 square miles directly on Long Island Sound and has 19,607 residents. It is less than an hour to Manhattan by Metro-North. I-95 and the Merritt Parkway link the town with points north and south. New York airports are approximately 1 hour away ... The Westchester Airport is just 30 minutes.
Schools:
There is an excellent education system of five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Pear Tree Point School is a private school with an enrollment of pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
Recreation:
An extensive public library and cultural programs greatly enhance the quality of life of its residents. The town supports 2 yacht clubs, Weed beach, a public skating rink and winter clubs. Six private clubs are available.
